Synthesis and crystal structure of chiral N-ferrocenylmethyl alkamine imine

Abstract

Two chiral ferrocenylimine alcohols have been prepared, [Fe(η⁵-(C₅H₅){η⁵-C₅H₄CH=NCH(CH₂OH)(CH₂R)}] (R = Ph, 5a; R = Prⁱ, 5b). Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the molecular structure of compound 5b is enantiomerically pure.
