Abstract
Solvent effects on the reduction of Co(NH3)4ox+ in water-methanol/1,4-dioxane mixtures have quantitatively been analysed in terms of linear solvation energy relationships. The experimentally determined rate constants/quantum yield values are well correlated with solvent empirical parameters through an equation of the form Y=a0+a1X1+a2X2+…+an Xn, wbich revealed significant information on the solvent–solvent–solute interactions
