Abstract
The intramolecular reductive cyclizations of o-nitrophenoxyacetophenones, o-nitrophenoxyacetate and o-nitrophe-noxyacetonitrile induced by the Sm/TiCl4 system were studied; 2H-1,4-benzoxazines are obtained in high yields under room temperature conditions.
