Abstract
Summary
Studies were carried out to provide additional information on the effect of triiodothyronine on innate resistance. Mice treated with the drug were significantly more susceptible to infection by Candida albicans and by a strain of Streptococcus pyogenes, type 18, than untreated controls. Treatment of mice with triiodothyronine failed to enhance significantly time for death of C58 mice to transplanted leukemia, line Ib.
