Summary
Mice injected intraperitoneally with either egg albumin or bovine serum al- bumin mixed in Freund's adjuvant develop large amounts of peritoneal fluid containing antibodies to the antigen injected. As much as 28 ml of fluid has been collected from a single mouse on a single tapping. Most mice produced from 0.5-14 ml of fluid each. About 50% of the mice respond with accumulation of fluid in the peritoneum.
