Abstract
Summary
The efficacy of 3 purified diets, each containing a different mixture of energy-yielding constituents, for growth of lambs was investigated. Preliminary results indicate that lambs fed a diet containing glucose and 31.9% of the salts of volatile acids, acetic, propionic and butyric, performed better than lambs on diets containing either starch and glucose or starch, glucose and cellulose.
