Abstract
Summary
A new method for quantitative determination of desoxypentose nucleic acid has been presented. The innovation of this method is precipitation of DNA by salmine and dissolution of purines and pyrimidines from the precipitate by means of hot acid salt solution. The quantitation depends upon the absorption of the acid saline extract at 268 mμ. The method is very specific for DNA. Precision and DNA recovery are both good.
