Summary
Twelve of 13 original ECHO viruses have been adapted to HeLa cells in tissue cultures. The adapted viruses produced discrete, recognizable cytopathogenic changes. Infected fluids at the 5th passage level provided specific, reliable antigens for use in the CF test.
