Summary
1. Tissue cultures of human amnion cells were found to be susceptible to all adenoviruses tested, certain Coxsackie viruses, and herpes simplex virus. 2. Amnion cell cultures were employed in large scale routine testing for viral agents with recovery of 40 strains of adenoviruses types 1, 2, 3, and 5, one type 1 poliovirus, and 6 strains of herpes simplex virus.
