Summary
Hypophysectomy, with or without adrenalectomy, abolishes the anticortisol effects (upon catabolism inflammation, thymolysis and splenolysis) of desoxycorticosterone acetate, seen in the adrenalectomized rat. Apparently, the anticortisol actions of mineralocorticoids are indirect, and depend upon some hypophyseal conditioning factor.
