Abstract
Summary
Blood pepsinogen levels were measured in cats, dogs, rats, and man following acute and chronic administration of adrenocorticotrophic hormone and/or cortical steroids. Despite demonstration of adrenal cortical stimulation, pepsinogen activity did not increase. The data indicate that blood pepsinogen activity does not constitute an index of adrenal cortical activation.
