Summary
The procedure of Padawer and Gordon for the isolation of mast cells from peritoneal washings was modified to employ a sucrose density gradient, and along with other changes in certain details, a procedure was elaborated that regularly provides mast cells 100% pure with respect to cell type in yields up to 87% with respect to the original washings.
