Summary
(1) In non-toxic doses MEM shows no C.N.S. excitatory effects in mice, rats, and dogs. (2) In doses which do not induce loss of righting reflex, MEM prolongs hexobarbital hypnosis. (3) MEM, unlike morphine, codeine, and some methadone isomers, significantly blocks the convulsant and toxic effects of pentylenetetrazole.
