Summary
Relatively large amounts of low molecular weight hexosamine-containing compounds were shown to be present in urine. The excretion rate varied from 16 mg/24 hours (myxedema) to 137 mg/24 hours (surgical stress) as compared with a normal mean excretion rate of 37 mg/24 hours.
