Abstract
Summary
Rats fed 2-amino, 5-nitrothiazole had larger thyroid glands and a lower thyroidal accumulation of I131 than non-treated rats. It is suggested that the antithyroid properties of this compound might explain the inhibition of secretion of pituitary gonadotropin that has been reported following the administration of 2-amino, 5-nitrothiazole to fowl.
