Summary
Dog pancreatic juice and extracts of hog pancreas contain elastase in an inactive form. Trypsin or a duodenal factor is capable of activating pro-elastase. The activation is blocked by pancreatic and soybean trypsin inhibitors, an indication that the duodenal factor is enterokinase.
