Abstract
Summary
The LD50 for pentobarbital given intraperitoneally in mice was determined. Administration of picrotoxin within a few minutes of the pentobarbital injection decreased mortality so that the LD50 for the pentobarbital was higher in animals receiving picrotoxin. On the other hand, orally or par-enterally administered hydrocortisone did not decrease mortality and seemed to increase susceptibility to pentobarbital.
