Abstract
Summary
Isolated beef adrenal glands were perfused with homologous blood containing radioactive lysine and amino acids. One preparation of ACTH added to the perfusate was consistent in promoting gland protein synthesis in addition to an elevated corticosteroid output as compared to levels before ACTH addition. These effects were not observed with a different preparation of ACTH.
