Abstract
Summary
Inactivation by u.v. light of strains of the 3 types of poliomyelitis virus (type 1: Mahoney, type 2: MEF-1 and type 3: Saukett) was found to proceed exponentially down to less than 10-6 survivors for types 1 and 3. For type 2 the inactivation curve consistently showed a slight bend, suggesting the presence of a small fraction of more resistant virus particles.
