Abstract
Summary
Samples of Paramoecium caudatum, length 207 ± 4.7 μ exposed to supersonic vibrations of low intensity at frequencies from .9 mc/sec. to 5.5 mc/sec. and allowed to multiply for 24 hours, show a response (reduction in multiplication rate) at the frequency expected by acoustic resonance principles, and also at subharmonic frequencies. Some suggestions for additional investigation are included.
