Summary
A commercially available 50% coconut oil emulsion (Ediol) diluted one hundred fold with physiological saline and mixed with 5 volumes of normal plasma or of 3% albumin is a good substrate for the study of clearing factor in heparinized plasma. Albumin is only one of the cofactors for the clearing factor.
