Lipemia clearing factor was formed in vivo during peptone and anaphylactic shock, presumably as the result of the release of heparin or a heparin-like substance. It is suggested that hypoxia inhibits the in vivo activity of lipemia clearing factor but does not affect its in vitro activity.
