Abstract
Summary
The response of chick and mouse fibroblasts to adrenal and non-adrenal steroids was studied in a perfusion apparatus. Cholic acid, estradiol, and pregnenolone induced no changes in fibroblasts. DOCA, DOCG, and Compound S caused a great increase in the size of the cells. The nucleus and heterochromatic material within the nucleus were greatly increased in size. There was an increase in the number of mitochondria and a tendency to lay down large numbers of fibers.
