1. In the dog a single large intravenous dose of pyrogen completely abolished the renal response to antidiuretic hormone whether it was given before or after the pituitary hormone. 2. No permanent alterations of concentrating or diluting function of the kidney could be demonstrated for the doses of pyrogen used.
