Abstract
Summary
Plasma glutamine and oxypurine levels were studied in a group of 10 control and 10 gouty subjects. No differences could be observed in the plasma glutamine content between the 2 groups. Plasma oxypurine level was clearly elevated in only one gouty subject. This study fails to confirm a previous report of abnormally low levels of glutamine and markedly high levels of oxypurines in blood of patients with gout.
