Summary
A close correlation between the emetic activity and hypotensive activity in the dog has been demonstrated for 14 purified veratrum derivatives. A correlation has also been shown to exist between the emetic activity in the pigeon and the emetic and hypotensive activity in the dog. The emetic activity of veratrum in dogs is suggested as a method of assay.
