Abstract
Summary
A method is described for recording the intestinal motility of an unanesthetized rabbit. Frequent comparable studies can be obtained in the same animal. Simultaneous recording of intraperitoneal pressures permits separation of intrinsic intestinal pressures from extra-intestinal effects. The intestinal motor activity, as recorded by this method, responds to intra-luminal mechanical stimulation and to pharmacological agents.
