Abstract
Summary
Renin inhibits compensatory renal hypertrophy and is more active intraperitoneally than subcutaneously. This inhibition, which is caused by renin as such, is not related to the catabolic effect of renin; it is abolished by hypophysectomy. Our experiments suggest that renin, like other hormonal secretions, can act in a self-regulating mechanism in the control of organ growth.
