Summary

1. A series of determinations of the electrophoretic patterns in plasmas of dogs whose livers have been irradiated following intravenous injection of radioactive colloidal gold are presented. These are compared to a similar control series. The irradiated animals had significantly lower serum albumins and significantly higher gamma globulin components. Some suggestive differences in the effect of age on level of the alpha₂ globulin are noted. 2. Examination of ascitic fluid samples obtained from irradiated animals showed that all plasma protein fractions appeared in the ascitic fluid, with albumin, alpha₂ globulin, fibrinogen and gamma globulin predominant.
