Abstract
Summary
A simple and rapid method is described for estimating pyruvate-activated glutaminase II activity of liver tissue. Glutaminase II activity was found in livers of rats, mice and rabbits but was absent in livers of monkeys and was low in livers of guinea pigs. Using human liver tissue taken at autopsy, glutaminase II activity could not be detected although arginase activity was found in these livers.
