Summary
The rate of secretion of 17-hydroxycorticosterone by the adrenal of the dog as determined by chromatographic analysis of adrenal venous blood reached a low and apparently constant level within 4 hours after hypophysectomy. Two minutes after intravenous ACTH injection in these animals; the rate of secretion was significantly increased.
