Summary
Administration of epinephrine alone or in combination with either TSH or thyroxin has been found to produce a lowering in the blood level of thyroid hormone (organic-bound I131). This response to epinephrine is interpreted as being due to the increased utilization of circulating thyroid hormone caused by epinephrine. The significance of this finding is discussed.
