Abstract
Summary
The recovery of a strain of rickettsia belonging to the spotted fever group, presumably Rickettsia rickettsii, from the tissues of a wild meadow mouse, Microtus pennsylvanicus, is described. The evidence supporting its identification as R. rickettsii is presented and the implications of these findings are discussed.
