Summary
In DBA mice “thyroidecto-mized” with I131, articular lesions were observed which differ from the degenerative joint disease occurring spontaneously in aging mice. Males were more susceptible to the joint disease than females. In males, there was a strong positive correlation between the incidence of hypophyseal tumors induced by the isotope and the incidence of articular lesions, while in females this correlation was less obvious.
