Summary
1. Procollagen has been prepared from rabbit skin and its solubility characteristics studied. 2. Both citrate and calciumions exert a strong solubilizing action on procollagen. Added acid mucopolysaccharides from skin and chondroitinsulfuric acid from cartilage show little, if any, influence on the solubility of procollagen.
