Summary
The effects of the administration of cortisone acetate, hydrocortisone acetate and DOCA on the duration of pentothal anesthesia in adrenalectomized female mice were ascertained. Adrenalectomy induced a highly significant prolongation in the duration of pentothal anesthesia. Pretreatment of cortisone acetate and hydrocortisone acetate returned the anesthesia time to normal level in adrenalectomized mice, while DOCA and saline had no effect.
