Summary
Salivary gland and pancreas have been added to the list of tissues whose energy metabolism is controlled by the thyroid gland. In contrast, lymph nodes, thymus, ovaries, uterus, prostate and seminal vesicles have metabolic rates unaltered (within 10%) by thyroid status.
