Abstract
Summary
A simple and sensitive thermoelectric device for the measurement of temperature has been described which incorporates the thermistor as the temperature-sensing element. As a needle-type thermometer, this apparatus has been used extensively in our laboratory to obtain continuous recordings of abdominal subcutaneous temperatures attained during the production of hydrothermal burns in rats. On the basis of the many advantages inherent in this apparatus, its further utilization for temperature measurements in biological studies is advocated.
