Summary
When mice were inoculated intraperitoneally with a mixture of R. tsutsugamushi and R. typhi it was found that both rickettsiae multiply simultaneously in the cytoplasm of the same cells lining the peritoneal cavity. The significance of this finding with regard to the simultaneous growth of other viruses in the same cell is described.
