Abstract
Summary
It was found that in a group of hypophysectomized rats allowed to feed ad libitum as well as in a group force fed by stomach tube some animals subsequently survived fasting about at long as their non-hypo-physectomized controls. These hypophysectomized animals which survived fasting well also maintained blood sugar concentrations during fasting which were comparable to those of their controls.
