Summary
1. The amino acids of the protein of crystalline turnip yellow mosaic virus were studied by paper chromatographic and microbiological technics. 2. Virtually all the protein was accounted for by microbiological assay for 18 amino acids performed on hydrolysates of the protein. 3. The protein was characterized by the presence of large amounts of serine, threonine, and proline. Hydroxyproline was not detected.
