Summary
(1) Pure aqueous humor from beef eyes will support survival but only limited growth of chick fibroblasts. (2) A mixture of aqueous humor and 20% desiccated embryo extract results in extensive proliferation of chick fibroblasts which is superior to that obtained in media prepared from desiccated horse serum, embryo extract and saline. (3) The possible explanations and significance of these findings have been discussed.
