Summary
The intravenous administration of 1.2 mg of digitoxin to 5 male subjects with no cardiovascular disorder was found to cause a significant decrease in the serum protein concentration and an increase in the total circulating protein content within 8 hours. The results were interpreted as indicating an increase in the water and protein content of the vascular compartment.
