Abstract
Summary
1. Treatment of a benzopyrene-induced rat sarcoma with colchicine produced tumor regression. This regression was complete in some cases. 2. No hemorrhage has been observed in tumors treated with colchicine. 3. This tumor contains a potent enzyme capable of hydrolysing sodium pyrophosphate. 4. The pyrophosphatase of tumors treated with colchicine is thereby lowered. 5. Colchicine has no effect on tumor pyrophosphatase in vitro.
