Production of a Nutritional Deficiency in Mice Fed a Low Fat Diet

Summary

The addition of succinylsulfa-thiazole to low fat diets caused a growth retardation in mice although adequate quantities of all known accessory growth factors were fed. Normal growth resulted when fat. cottonseed meal, or rolled oats were added to the basal diet containing succinylsulfathiazole.
