Summary
Insulin increases the rate of glucose oxidation in the eviscerated rabbit. The influence of insulin upon glucose oxidation is most marked in the non-fasted fed animal. It is less effective after a day's fast prior to evisceration and the effect is greatly decreased by a still longer fasting period.
