Abstract
Summary
Phagocytosis of Micrococcus pyogenes var. albus cells by polymorphonuclear leucocytes was markedly inhibited by aureomycin in a concentration of 1000 μg/ml in vitro. This inhibition, although less pronounced, was still significant in concentrations of the antibiotic which were considerably lower than the therapeutic blood levels ordinarily employed in clinical practice.
