Summary
The yeast cell phase of Histoplasma capsulatum, when injected intravenously in suitable numbers, has been shown to yield a consistently reproducible fatal infection in the rat. The necessity for standardizing the inoculum on the basis of the number of viable organisms, rather than the absolute number of organisms, is emphasized.
