Abstract
Summary
Cortisone failed to prevent the development of the polyarthritis of rats when its administration was begun on the day of infection or to improve it when given therapeutically. The animals receiving cortisone gained less weight than the unmedicated controls. Terramycin given in 0.3% in the diet prevented the development, and 0.3% in the drinking water favorably altered the course of the rat polyarthritis.
