Abstract
Summary
1. Oral administration of salicylates and aminopyrine in rabbits decreased the incidence of death from anaphylactic shock. 2. A number of compounds closely related, chemically or pharmacologically, did not produce a similar inhibitory effect. 3. The mechanism of action is not antihistaminic, nor does it appear to be related to characteristic pharmacological effects, e.g. antipyresis. It may represent a direct effect on the specific combination of antigen and antibody.
